Ever since the announcement of Softmax’s Magna Carta 2 for the Xbox 360 back in 2005, information has been scarce. No news, videos or images. Now we finally get a glimpse of the game at Microsoft’s Japanese press event.

The debut trailer for Magna Carta 2 was shown at the event and a batch of images were released. The visual book is shown at the end of the video which seems to be the pre-order bonus. If the zombie apocalypse back in November didn’t completely satisfy your hunger for more undead massacres, then fear not, survivor! Valve released today DLC for their critically and commercially acclaimed hit Left 4 Dead, which was announced back before the end of last year.

At first announced for the PC and then a later release on the 360, Valve pushed the PC release back to coincide with the Xbox’s release, all the while battling with Microsoft to achieve a free “price-tag” for all. And after playing through the new content, Valve could be charging $10, and it’d still be justifiable. Read more… »

In March, shareholders of the UK game developer Eidos approved Square Enix’s GBP 84.3 million (US $123.7 million) acquisition bid of the company.  85% of shareholders comprising 99.92% of the shares represented voted in favour of the acquisition.   All that was required to make the takeover complete was court approval.

According to gamesindustry.biz, a court has approved the take over bid and Eidos will officially become part of Square Enix on 22 April 09.   As of 23 April 09 at 0800 Eidos will no longer be listed by the UK Listing Authority. Read more… »

Epic Games will be sponsoring the next TNA Wrestling Pay Per View, Sacrifice. Instead of having a few banners and logos, TNA Wrestling takes the advertisement to the extreme by having one of their wrestlers, AJ Styles, dress up as Marcus Fenix from Epic Games’ Gears of War.

Gaming in high definition provides the best possible picture and soundf quality and allows us to play the games they were meant to be played. The Final Fantasy series has had a long history of amazing prerendered cutscenes and equally as beautiful real time graphics.

With the wait until FFXIII launches we can’t help but think how good these graphics can get.  The folks over at intermezzo ran a series of comparison shots of the Japanese demo on high end HD TV’s and the good old family analogue. Read more… »
