On June 21 and 22, gamers in and around the London area will have the chance to attend what is shaping up to be a rather grand exhibition. Game On!, announced earlier this month, is being put together by HMV and the United Kingdom eSports Association (UKeSA) and features a blend of competitive tournaments and exclusive pre-release previews.
Adding to the growing promise of this event, Nintendo UK have added themselves to the line-up, confirming that they thrilled at the prospect of showing London what to expect from them in the coming year.
“We are delighted to be a part of Game On! London – it’s exciting to see a UK consumer event in the Capital again this year, and we are encouraged by the positive impact this could have on the industry.” David Yarnton, General Manager of Nintendo UK, said. “Nintendo UK has a lot to offer this coming year and we’re particularly enthused by UKeSA’s inclusive policy towards all areas of gaming and how we can work closely with HMV to make this the largest consumer games event in the UK this year.”
More than 20,000 people are expected to attend the two-day show, which is to take place at the Olympia National Hall. Tickets have been priced at £8, while a donation of 50p will be made from the sale of each ticket to HMV’s nominated charity CLIC Sargent, the children’s cancer charity.
Ray Mia, Chief Executive of UKeSA, added, “Nintendo are having a truly fantastic year, particularly with the launch of the new DSi. Game On! London attendees will have the chance to see the latest games in development for this and the massively popular Nintendo Wii.”
