In the May issue of PlayStation: The Official Magazine, an announcement was made regarding a possible Square Enix title coming up. Unfortunately, not much information was given beyond that fact that PTOM will reveal more info in the next issue. There was, however, a screenshot included in the announcement.

The only information available so far is a recent trademark filed by Square Enix. Late last week, the developer reserved the name Vanguard Storm with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. No information suggests that the name is linked to any franchises within Square Enix’s catalog. Stay tuned to PTOM, which promises to reveal all the details to Square Enix’s unannounced new action game.

Is it just me, or is that the ‘Cloud looking up at the Shinra building’ pose?
My first thought when looking at the screenshot was “Chrono Cross sequel”, although this probably isn’t the case. It seems to have a tropically-inspired art style similar to Chrono Cross or Final Fantasy X. I just wish square would hire a new character art designer. I’m tired of all their primary characters having that same ultra-smooth feminine look.
