Let’s Tap is a new Wii game from the mind of Yuji Naka.  Instead of focusing on pure motion controls gamers will set their Wii-mote on a box, and use varying degrees of tapping to play the five mini-games.

Hit the Jump to watch the trailer.  Warning: This video oozes with happiness and catchy music.

This video seems to focus on the Tap Runner mini-game more than anything else.  Let’s hope that isn’t the only game this interesting title is going to offer.  Let’s Tap is set to release on June 16, 2009 and will come in a bigger box so players can use it to rest their Wii-motes on.  How thoughtful.

What do you guys think of Yuji’s strange new game?

  1. I actually like it. If they can make good games that I will buy, and simultaneously market them to families; they hit the jackpot.

  2. That’s really interesting, nice to see people trying new things with the controls rather than just “well, you waggle it.”

  3. I like the idea…but why is it that the games that use the WiiMote best are just short mini-game compilations like WiiSports? It looks like Let’s Tap would be a game that could get really old with just one person.

  4. I tap along to music all the time anyway, so as long as it’s catchy I suppose they’re in good shape, This game looks simple and fun.
