Perhaps in one of the most unique unions the video game industry has ever seen, Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2 has captured the imagination of children, gamers, and just overall fans of the Disney properties. The unique blend of Disney magic, and Square-Enix’s RPG prowess has left gamers with a desire for the third installment in the series. All signs from the secret movies in Kingdom Hearts 2 pointed towards a third episode, but this short interview reconfirms our wildest dreams.

Nintendo Dream magazine interviewed Hasegawa, one the creators of the series. When asked if Kingdom Hearts III would happen, this is what he had to say. “There surely will be. I really can’t think of any reason why not, if everyone’s heated support continues. When it is said ‘Nomura will do [Kingdom Hearts] III,’ I can’t say we haven’t thought of anything.”

This is exciting news. Kingdom Hearts is somehting that deserves to continue. Perhaps with time we will learn more. Did he say this knowing they were already begining to develop the game? Could something be revealed at E3 this year? Time will tell, and GamerLimit will tell you.
