So I had a look at Muramasa the Demon Blade on my 3DS. It's almost shcoikng and ironic that it's the 2D games not the 3D games that seem to get the most out from s3D. Not to say that the screenshots from 3D games aren't any good (they are good), but we've been playing 3D games for years without stereoscopic 3D, and it hasn't bothered us because we've gotten so used to its absence.2D games, on the other hand, have never had inherent depth. They are flat images, so the brain does not perceive depth from them. However, the moment you give those flat images depth it really feels different. Elements that you all thought were on the same plane are on different planes. You're right it's like a diorama.Take Muramasa, for example. There are frequently a lot of elements and life bars and enemies and projectiles on screen at once. But when s3D is turned on, you can see that everything is composed of layers. Every on-screen object suddenly feels separate, like pieces of paper stacked one on top of another. You can tell objects apart much more easily. And certain screenshots like the one with farmland benefit soooo much.I've had a notion recently that developers would shy away from putting 2D games on the 3DS because they think only 3D games look good in 3D. I wish I could change their minds.

I have wanted to play both versions so bad! I have been hunting for Grandia II as well. Grandia (for the PSX) is one of the best RPGs I have ever played.

@Tim
This is my second favorite game of all time (the DC version). You darn well better give it a whorl!

The main characters, Vyse and Aika, are available as side characters. Or at least, that's what I've heard; I don't have a PS3, unfortunately.

Aren't there characters from this in Valkyria Chronicles? If so, maybe I'll have to give it a whorl.
