Curve studios have announced their volatile action game, inspired by such classic titles as the Mario and Mega man series, a 2.5D platformer that sets the player as an advanced exploding robot, using his detonations to propel himself throughout the level and attack his enemies.

“Explodemon! is best described as what Treasure would create if they mixed Yoshi’s island with Half Life 2.” Explains the Design Director, Jonathan Biddle, “it includes many elements from games as diverse as Street Fight 2, Halo, Super Metroid and Bangai-O.” The game is set to be released initially on PSN during Q4 this year, however, a version for PC and WiiWare is set to follow.
