Just when you think your indie gaming darling Tim is safe, a Super Meat Boy comes along and has its way with him. Hot off the heels of Braid’s critical acclamation after its release last summer, the art director behind the game has decided to place the suited star into his new project.

Super Meat Boy is a WiiWare/ PC remake of the popular flash game Meat Boy. As a developer at Team Meat and the artist behind Braid, Edmund McMillen naturally felt inclined to include Tim “the time warping wonder” as a playable character in the upcoming platformer.

The game is a huge tribute to early 90′s platforming games. As Braid was every bit a platformer as it was a puzzler, Tim should fit right in with all the meaty malarkey.

Super Meat Boy is due out at the end of 2009. In the meantime, feel free to check out Team Meat’s web page.

  1. Man, he looks hideous! I mean, I’m sure that’s the point…but it’s really kinda scary.

  2. No way. Meat Boy rules.
