In case you’ve been living under a rock and never played Resident Evil 4; the “Mercenaries Mode” that was unlocked after beating the game makes a return in 5. It’s essentially a fan-service mini-game that was originally conceived during Resident Evil’s Playstation era, but underwent some tweaks and improvements. In case you’re wondering how you play, every enemy you kill in Mercenaries mode adds time to your clock. The object is to get a stellar time, in order to unlock new characters and goodies. This video footage is a huge sigh of relief for Resident Evil fans who previously thought this mode would be co-op only. It would have been terribly dissapointing if I couldn’t find classic solo Resident Evil solace anywhere in the game!
