With the release of Terminator Salvation just around the corner, it is refreshing to hear about the film without a reference to that Christian Bale rant – oops. Gameloft, who are responsible for the highly-acclaimed Assassin’s Creed mobile game, have announced a licensing agreement with The Halcyon Company to bring us an official Terminator one. Since the release of Sonic Adventure 2 in 2001, Sonic the Hedgehog has been in a coma. His 3D outings have generated limited success on the consoles while his portable endeavors have garnered rave reviews because they mastered the formula the Sega Genesis made famous. After reading about Sonic and the Black Knight (SBK) in Nintendo Power last year, I eagerly anticipated its release, hoping that it would mark the removal of the anthropomorphic blue blur from life support. Odin Sphere’s spiritual successor is looking better by the day. The art style looks incredibly beautiful, I just hope that the gameplay will match whenever this game finds it’s way into the Nintendo Wii’s disc tray.

Guitar Hero has been THE staple for music games ever since its introduction into the gaming world back nearly four years ago in November of 2005. Developed by Harmonix and published by RedOctane, it was deemed innovative, groundbreaking, or in one simple word: awesome. Gamers and non-gamers alike flocked to the virtual guitar as if free handjobs were included with every purchase. Everyone and their sister has either owned or at least played some incarnation of the game. And as Activision got their grubby, greedy little hands on the franchise in 2006, an explosion of music-oriented games was just around the bend.

The Paper Mario series is quite an interesting one. The original Paper Mario stood as a faux sequel for Super Mario RPG. At this point Mario was still new to the world of Role Playing, and Paper Mario for the N64 was just the ticket he needed to worm his way into another genre, especially with Mario RPG’s release being limited worldwide. With Super Paper Mario being the 3rd game in the Paper Mario series, Mario’s found his feet and planted them firmly, right on top of a Goomba.
