Long time podcast listners like myself were very sad to see the passing of GFW Radio. After Shawn Elliot and Jeff Green departed from 1up, the show changed names and changed its feel. We now have the extrodinary news that the entire original cast will be reuniteing for one more show. It will take place at PAX 2009, if the crew can raise the money for the room. Donations are being collected, which will all go to charity.

An animator from one of the leading UK game developers, Traveller’s Tales, recently let slip a few of their upcoming releases in their online resume. It has since been edited to remove any mention of the games, but before the details were taken down it was noted that both Lego Harry Potter and Lego Indiana Jones 2: Kingdom of the Crystal Skull were in development. As well as that, there was also mention of a pitch by Traveller’s Tales to develop a game based on the upcoming Hobbit movies, although no mention of whether they would be Lego or not. Read more… »

I was taking a little stroll through the internet today, and when I’m poking around aimlessly, I generally don’t find anything of much interest. But today felt different. First came the most amazingly awesome thing I’ve seen in a long time. This has got to be the best Metroid cosplay ever, if not the best cosplay of all time.
If you believe what you read on most forums and mainstream game media, the Playstation Network is touted as the best model for online console gaming. The reasons are many – the marketplace is easy to navigate, the content is priced properly, there’s a wide open space to interact with other gamers, and so on. Most of these justifications are perfectly sound and completely valid. I’ve enjoyed dancing in a line in the middle of the PSN Home movie theater with the best of them.
Gears Of War 2 will receive its second map pack very soon. The Snowblind map pack will hit Xbox live servers on March 31st and will sting gamers 800 points. Accompanying the new maps will the games third title update. The update will hopefully fix all the minor gameplay bugs and exploits which plagued the games launch matchmaking system.
