ninjablade

No. Definitely and emphatically no.

However, Ninja Blade does have some potential. I decided to give it a go last night, curious to how From Software and Microsoft Games Studio’s take on the modern ninja in Tokyo could be any different than Ninja Gaiden. Which, I found pretty quickly, that the protagonist Ken, which seems to be a constructed rival against Ryu Hayabusa, is much different. Not only does he have a token black guy as his helicopter pilot, he has the stereotypical master that is the only one who speaks with a Japanese accent, and a team full of ninjas that sound as if they just got out of the suburbs.

fable2

Peter Molyneux, the creator of Fable, doesn’t have a current game on the market, so he does what he does best; talks about his games. Apparently Fable 1 was a “monster” and wrecked marriages, friendships, and almost destroyed the entire team.

Quoting a recent interview “If I’m honest, on Fable we just burnt people’s lives; we destroyed the team,” Molyneux confessed. “Week after week, month after month, they worked 50, 60, 70, 80 hour weeks. It destroyed their lives and destroyed their marriages. You just can’t do that anymore.”

We’ve all been waiting for it, and here it is. The trailer to the next game from the maker of Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers. For the lazy-heads that don’t want to watch the trailer; it looks like Alien Hominids’ PDA games, only a lot more advanced looking.

Apparently all of the marshmallow heads feel awful about taking these emeralds, not just the Professor Layton one in the teaser picture.

pitt

You may remember when the second batch on downloadable content for Fallout 3 was announced. We were teased with some real gritty screens of new enemies, weapons and locations. Bethesda has released their first trailer for the DLC which will hit the Xbox Live Marketplace on March 24th for 800 Microsoft Points. Putting ‘The Pitt’ almost two months after the slightly disappointing ‘Operation Anchorage’ pack.

It will be interesting to see how this pack fits into nuked out Washington DC. Whether it will be a newly spawned location or a long lost memory is yet to be seen. The combat focused Operation Anchorage disappointed many Fallout fanatics who were looking for something more from a game which bought to them 60+ hours of game time. The Pitt actually looks like a new city full of NPS for us to talk to/shoot/enslave/pickpocket or just punch them in the face for many more hours to come.

DS-i Don’t See Why..?

When mankind finally rips the last of the planets natural resources from its still warm breast and throws itself off into the inky black darkness of space, the only eyes left to bear witness to the destruction of the universe at the hands of a Sun going nova will be the statues and monuments erected in the name of past glories and fantastical triumphs, in celebration of a mammal that got ideas above its station the moment it learned to stop falling out of trees and get on with evolving.

Unless you’re a sci-fi fan, in which case the Matrix will probably be destroyed by an army of rouge Terminators who are eventually bought down by Batman in camo gear and Bluetooth headset (or you’re a Creationist still struggling with the concept of dinosaurs and learning that saying you’re right doesn’t mean you are even if you say it really loudly whilst wearing a rented lab coat). Gamer Limit Review: MadWorld
By: | March 17th, 2009

maddy

Fans of any media are no stranger to violence. In Michael Haneke’s film Funny Games, visceral off screen violence and repeated breaking of the fourth wall comment on violence as a negative form of entertainment. Chuck Palahniuk’s book Haunted has a group of writers create violent situations by sabotaging food supplies, and each other, in an attempt to become more credible; thus stating that in media, more violence means more entertainment.

Does MadWorld join this overdramatization of violence? With over the top characters, violence, and graphical presentation Madworld makes the statement “violence is fun” successfully, but not perfectly.
