After many months Wolfenstein’s website has finally arrived, and it’s doesn’t arrive empty handed. Included is a bunch of new screenshots, concept art and a user reward system. No doubt more content will be released in the coming days but for the launch it’s looking great.

Yesterday we featured the Mega Man 2.5 project, and today we have found something equally awesome to show off, Super Mario Bros. with mouse control… While mouse control by itself doesn’t sound particularly impressive but just wait until you see what you can do with the mouse, check it out below.

Stumbling through the front door covered in eggs thrown by anti-racist protestors, dragging behind it a partner who has divided opinion like when John Lennon married Yoko Ono, Resident Evil 5 would be forgiven for having a slow start in terms of sales. Fortunately for Capcom, it hasn’t, which would appear to be an understatement when considering just how well the thing has actually done this past weekend in the UK.
Capcom’s UK public relations company Monument PR has pointed out the fact that the game actually outsold cinema ticket and music sales: “Game Dramatically Outsells Singles, Albums, Films – Games Now Most Popular Entertainment Medium in UK”. You heard ‘em right, games are now the most popular entertainment medium in the UK, especially when surrounded by the kind of controversy that would make Bill Clinton blush.

The folks over at andriasang.com recently got a chance to play The Behemoth’s untiltled game #3 at the Tokyo International Anime Fair. Behemoth’s Dan Paladin was quoted referring the game as, “Behemoth’s Next Game After the Last Next Game,” and even the game’s title screen sported this lengthy name. The game has a heavy emphasis on multiplayer, as showcased in the recent teaser trailer, and four of the game’s quirky modes have been revealed. Well… three are quirky, one is soccer. “Greedings”, everyone. Posting on the official PlayStation blog, lead designer of Unreal Tournament 3, Steve Podge, firstly, had those two words to say. But if that wasn’t enough to get you excited in all the right places, he also happened to mention that the long-awaited UT3 Titan Pack was going to be available tomorrow, which now happens to be today.
In a welcome twist, the content, delayed due to an extensive certification process, is FREE to download and features an incredible amount of extras, including the gametypes Betrayal and Greed, which Podge gushed over in the following way: Read more… »

Everyone loves retro games, playing that old Sonic or Mario game from 10 years ago gives you that warm fuzzy feeling inside. But can games nowadays give you that feeling? Or will you have to wait 10 years so you can reminisce? It seems that developers want to renew that warm nostalgic feeling, and making sequels just doesn’t cut it any more. Rebooting old games for new systems is becoming quite popular. But is it what we really want?
It seems that remaking a game from long ago can be seen as one of two things; either a fantastic idea, or a cheap cop-out. Got no ideas? Lets remake that game from 8 years ago! Throw on some pretty new graphics and apparently it’s a brand new game. Personally 90% of the time I think it’s a terrible idea, games should only be remade if there is an irrefutable demand for them. Games like Final Fantasy 7 or Ocarina of Time have had fans demanding remakes for years, and strangely enough, the games that are demanded the most, are the ones we do not get. Instead we get remakes like Tomb Raider Anniversary, which really, nobody wants.
Not, it’s not PixelJunk Dungeons! Next Thursday at GDC, anyone who attends will be able to play the next PixelJunk game. It’s been a huge week for downloadable games, with the recent unveiling of the latest The Behemoth title, “Game #3“. I have no idea what this one is going to be, with their now 5th game “Dungeons”, supposedly being another tower defense, it could be anything.
Update: Gamerlimit has just been told that the “new game” is in fact PixelJunk Eden Encore; the expansion to PixelJunk Eden. Read more… »
