fable2

Peter Molyneux, the creator of Fable, doesn’t have a current game on the market, so he does what he does best; talks about his games. Apparently Fable 1 was a “monster” and wrecked marriages, friendships, and almost destroyed the entire team.

Quoting a recent interview “If I’m honest, on Fable we just burnt people’s lives; we destroyed the team,” Molyneux confessed. “Week after week, month after month, they worked 50, 60, 70, 80 hour weeks. It destroyed their lives and destroyed their marriages. You just can’t do that anymore.”

Apparently Fable 2 wasn’t quite the monster Fable 1 was, but I would suspect some of the game breaking glitches it had played a little part in that. I’m pretty sure that if you (yes you) wanted to interview Peter Molyneux you could. Just email him and say “I want to ask you about how awesome Fable is, then publish how awesome it is online”. He’ll do it.

  1. Where can you really get his email from?
The making of Fable is a sad story. It’s like a pyramid, only the finished product was only half as good as planned.

  2. This was a pretty bittersweet article. I wanted to laugh, I wanted to cry.

  3. @Leaf Runner
Haha, I’d assume you’d have to email his PR division then they’d forward it to him.

  4. Well, apparently to make a semi-great game out of fable one sacrifices had to be made(lol that is extremely sad though) cause compared to 1, Fable 2 sucked . . . I say make the original “Project Ego” and release that!

  5. Looking back, I think I can blame Fable for all of my failed relationships. Even the ones before it was published. It’s so clear now. Fable was the only thing i was ever able to commit to.

  6. @ Leaf – http://www.emailfinder.com there are 16 e-mails matching Peter Molyneux, lol ;)

  7. Good stuff :)

On a sidenote, Fable is on sale right now on the Live Marketplace.
