For those of you who are foaming at the mouth with excitement over the upcoming Left 4 Dead free DLC survival pack, take a look at the following video. It features Hunter punting, Smoker wranglin’, and Tank BBQ.

While it may only look like L4D with a timer, the focus in Survival mode is on defending a singular location. This change in pace will be an interesting twist on gameplay that otherwise focuses on keeping things moving. Allegedly the Valve team can’t last more than 10 minutes against the waves of undead, so it seems that this might be perfect for that “bite sized” round of L4D to squeeze between your morning shower and breakfast.

With increased special infected in a wave at one time, there’s even the harrowing prospect of fighting two tanks at once. Sounds like a game over to me. 11 of the 12 stages feature rehashes of familiar areas from the game, while the new map will showcase a lighthouse set piece.

Who will be trying to beat Valve’s 9 minute mark record when the DLC is available for download?
