Kingdom Hearts fans rejoice, your new game has finally received a Japanese release date. Hopefully this means a U.S and Europe release isn’t too far off. It’s not Kingdom Hearts 3, unfortunately, but 358/2 days, [Aka Kingdom Hearts DS]. Not only that, a new piece of hardware is on the way as well.
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, what the hell is that all about? 358 divided by 2 is 179 days. Confusing. The game is a spinoff/prequel to Kingdom Hearts II and it follows former Organization XIII member Roxas. So you get to play as someone other than Sora. The game is set for a Japan release on May 30th 2009, pricing is set at 5,980 yen. Hopefully it’ll live up to the other games in the series, which were magnificent.
Not only have Square announced the release date for the game, they’ve also revealed a special Nintendo Dsi, styled after Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. The Dsi is all black with numerous Kingdom Hearts symbols covering the top flap, and the game’s name just under the camera. This Dsi is only going to be available with the game, and the bundle is going to cost you 24,880 yen.
