Katamari Damacy Tribute is on its way to the PS3 in glorious 1080p High Definition resolution. Siliconera reports a magazine scan that boasts shiny new graphics, but claims that the graphical polish looks like “plain old Katamari.”
The magazine article highlights the inclusion of some of the most memorable music from the Katamari series. These tunes are remixed versions of classics, leading to speculation that “Tribute” may be hinting at a sort of Katamari “greatest hits.”
Regardless, we can only hope that Katamari Damacy Tribute will be a full fledged, self contained game. After the mixed reception of Beautiful Katamari’s heavy reliance on DLC to create a full game experience, we can only hope fans of the series will not be nickled and dimed with Tribute.
Basically what I’m getting at is: The Prince vs. Noby Noby Boy… who wins?

I was really hoping this would happen. I love the Katamari series.
Haha so true David. There’s been titles in the series and none have offered truly different mechanics other than “day and night” cycle and the like. I love Katamari (no pun intended), but I could go for a new “King of Cosmos family” (his cousin perhaps), and maybe something like “Katamari Universe”, where you have to roll on different planets.
In other news, let’s look out for the rumored DSi title that is supposed to be an original game.
Here’s to hoping for something new…..
Either way, I’ll be buying it. No other game makes people stop what they are doing and slowly say “What the ****”.
Katamari always looks amazing so I can only imagine how great it will be in HD. I have a feeling my eyes may explode…
