A Notre Dame Academy student named Breanna Lucci has started a petition over her displeasure of Nazi dog murder in Activision’s Call of Duty: World at War. Lucci’s expresses concern over gamers becoming more likely to commit violence against animals after playing such a desenstitizing game.  More after the jump.

The student and member of the school’s Animal Rights Club first noticed the canine combat while watching her older brother play the game. “My little 12-pound Pomeranian, Winnie the Pooh, is sitting next to him, and I’m thinking, ‘This looks horrible!’” says Lucci regarding the virtual dog killing.

Lucci goes on to clarify, saying, “My brother is a sweetheart. He won’t be killing dogs after playing. But some people might.”

The club views these types of video games as numbing people to violence against animals (and humans).  They have also acquired more than 100 signatures from classmates that share their feelings towards virtual animal violence.

Sure, unprovoked violence against any living thing is egregious, but we’re not talking about any pups here… these are Nazi pups.  Do you folks think this sort of reaction to fighting German Shepards is merited?  Do you remember how you felt the first time you were forced to fight a dog in Wolfenstein 3D or any other game?
