The Sims 3 was set to be released at the end of this month on February 20th. It now seems as though fans of this long running series are going to have to wait a little longer for the sequel they so sorely want, down to EA “Evaluating the launch window”.
EA haven’t revealed what they’re evaluating exactly, but it is going to push the release date all the way back to June 2nd. The Sims is one of their strongest titles, and its release will be one of EA’s top selling games of the year. The original Sims and Sims 2 achieved outstanding success, and its apparent that EA want to repeat the same success with the third installment.
EA marketing VP Russell Arons said in a statement, “The June launch combined with the break-through game the team is building gives us the perfect runway to create awareness for The Sims 3.
The fact that The Sims 3 has been pushed back 3 months wont put a dent in its selling power. No doubt in the run up to June the game will be hyped more and more. The game looks fantastic and takes elements from the previous games, while adding so much more.
Electronic Arts also mentioned in its official release that iPhone, iPod Touch, mobile, and Mac versions of the game would appear sometime in summer 2009.

Delays are always good in my opinion. I’d rather wait a few more months for a game than have scores of glitches like Gears 2.
Agreed Chris, well the delay for Too Human wasn’t too worth it, but I still liked it.
Daikatana is a good example of a bad delay
Haha yep.
Delays are usually a good thing, except when games repeatedly get delayed, >:(
