If you are lucky enough to be in a relationship, Valentine’s Day is one of those days when you just have to avoid spending time gaming. This means missing your daily fix while you spend quality time with your special lady, well not anymore.
That’s right people; your eyes are not deceiving you, for I have come up with a list of games that you can play on Valentine’s Day without being told off by your girlfriend. (Lady Gamers, if you are lucky and your boyfriend enjoys gaming, then if you treat him to a few hours of team deathmatch on Valentine’s Day, I guarantee he will be very grateful).
Flower

Well if you were going to get her flowers anyway, why not get her something that will not wilt within a week? Flower is a beautiful relaxing game, when you put it on, light a few aromatic candles to further create a laid back atmosphere, open a bottle of wine and take turns to gently glide those petals across the countryside.
Little Big Planet

Put some creative effort into your gift this year, and make her a special romantic Little Big Planet level. Little Big Planet is easy to pick up and play, and you can tailor your level to include lots of little references to her favorite color, her favorite country, favorite animals, whatever you can think of. Once she sees the effort you’ve gone to in making her this special level, she’ll be like putty in your hands.
Singstar
Maybe you were going to put on a CD in the background, some Barry Manilow perhaps? Instead you can serenade her with soulful tunes yourself, after all the best gifts are the most unique ones. Pick her favorite songs out and save the generic CD for later. (This might not be such a good idea if you have a terrible singing voice)
Games to Avoid
Anything with guns, loud noises, killing, and macho one liners. If you were renting a movie you wouldn’t get Predator, you would get a rom-com. So Gears of War 2 is out of the question even if you might think that Dom’s quest to find his missing wife qualifies as a romantic story.
If you are smart and thoughtful about what games you choose to play on Valentine’s Day you can kill two birds with one stone. First of all you will get that much longed for gaming fix, and secondly you can actually give your girlfriend a nice thoughtful and non clichéd gift that she will remember. (and it might even get her to play more games with you in the long run)
Anyway there is no time to waste if you want to make that LBP level, so stop reading and get to it!

Ah remember seeing a LBP level made as a proposal, it was most impressive. I’m sorry man but LBP is a pimp. You can’t help but love it, and I mean looooovee it. The romance just comes naturally….
