The Nintendo DSi will hit US shores on April 5th, 2009, and will retail for $169.99. The two colors that will ship at launch will be blue and black. Hit the jump for the full details on everything possible for the DSi.The DSi’s new features/downgrades are:
Upgrades
- 2 new 0.3 megapixel cameras
- 12% thinner
- Larger screens, by .25 inches
- Improved speaker quality
- A new DSi shop, using “Nintendo Points”, instead of “Wii Points”
- Can buy game content as well as “apps” similar to an Iphone
- 256 MB of internal flash memory
- A new SD card slot to store pictures, and listen to AAC audio
- The power “button” of the original DS, now located next to the bottom left
- One more brightness setting than the DS Lite
- Use of the Wii Photo channel with DSi pictures
- Upgradeable firmware
- Parental controls
- Better processor
- 4 times the amount of RAM
Downgrades
- 5 hours less battery life
- No more GBA slot (no more Guitar Hero Games, or Rumble Pack)
- New R4 (flash/homebrew) units are required
- Future firmware updates “may” lock users out if they use an R4 card

DS Piracy? I’m not that cheap. Now PSP Piracy? “No comment” lol. YAY I’m glad I didn’t waste money replacing my half broken lite with another lite.
2 camera’s? Thats a big of overkill IMO. I liked the original DS, I got big hands so it was uncomfortable holding the lite and I cant imagine something even thinner. plus there are too many good GBA games to give up that slot.
