As Game Trailers usually does with any forthcoming hotly anticipated sequel, Resident Evil 5’s family history has been unearthed and tossed onto the autopsy table for dissection. Geoff Keighley guides us carefully through the dark corridors of Raccoon City’s most infamous mansion as he sheds light on every iteration of the original Resident Evil game from 1996.
Viewers are treated to a brief summary of the evolution of the “Survival Horror” genre from its 8-bit incubation period to its PlayStation maturation. Additional fun is poked at the original game’s gloriously awful B-movie voice acting and dialogue, including such gems as Barry’s “you were almost a Jill sandwich.” Classic Barry Burton.
Speaking of Barry, when is the old hand-cannon wielding family man going to get his time in spotlight? Perhaps we can hold our breath for a cameo in Resident Evil 5? Anyway, click the video and check it out. Post your thoughts and reactions!

I can’t get ENOUGH RE compilation videos. First it was the comprehensive “Wesker Report”, now we get this. What a great series.
No kidding. This is a high quality video too. I’m looking forward to the rest of them.
Also, I played both the NES Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th, and owned the SNES Aladdin and Goof Troop. They were tons of fun. Retro+Modern game video ftw.
Never did play the Resident Evil all the way through…or past the first part. It was a friend of mines at the time and well…i was too scared after the first part that i ditched it heh.
Of course these days it’s hard to get a game that’s actually a scary game, just not full of “shock factor”.
