It looks like the comments from Square-Enix suit, Yoichi Wada stating that delays in the development of Dragon Quest 9 would mean delays for Final Fantasy XII may not be true given some revelations in the latest issue of Famitsu.
Kotaku has highlighted a Famitsu interview with FFXIII Lead guy, Motomu Toriyama. When asked about whether the DQ9 delays will truly mean delays from FFXIII, Toriyama answered, “Development is going favorably for a 2009 launch.”
Of course this means a Japanese launch for the Playstation 3. Any details about releases in other territories, and the Xbox 360 release are still TBD.
I’ll be happy as long as I get to play as a battle hardened Yeti again. Bring back Umaro please!

7-10 were solid, 12 wasn’t up to par in terms of it’s predecessors in my opinion, but I’m really excited for 13.
Final Fantasy can do no wrong as far as main series entries go in my book. Awesome.
Good to hear it’s reaching this year. Too many stories about going to late 09, or early 10.
