Great news for Far Cry 2 fans. Apparently Ubisoft seems to think they screwed up multiplayer, and just announced they plan to fix it. This update is coming to all platforms, and is set to release in the next slew of patches. Dive into the story for details. The updates in the “hardcore” patch are:
- All weapons have been rebalanced on normal mode, and on hardcore mode.
- Enemy names will disappear after the spawning invincibility period is over (A shield is displayed above a player’s head for a few second to show that he is invincible).
- A new option will allow you to tweak spawning time (but not spawning rate).
- A new search option will be available in multiplayer to allow you to find games that are playing on hardcore mode.
Apparently people don’t like Far Cry 2, even though it’s sitting at an 85% average of all 3 platforms on Gamerankings. The single player looks immersive, but I haven’t heard anyone talk about the multiplayer. Hopefully this patch will quell any gripes about Far Cry 2’s multiplayer imbalances.

What about the thousands of points lost every time you log out of the game and go back in later? What about the excessive disconnects experienced by numerous gamers during gaming sessions? Those issues need to be resolved before adding things.

the upd8 helps but it doesn’t sovle all the bugs. so much potential in the multi-player; if only ubisoft knew what to do, if only they invested more time, effort & money. things might have been different.
