vs2

As a new feature, Gamer Limit is reaching out to the community to see which games are the “best” in their respective genre. Our new “Mash Up” feature showcases one retro and one modern game fighting for the crown. For our first week, we had a “beat ‘em up mashup. Our second competition category is “shoot ‘em ups”: hit the jump for a look at both games, and instructions on how to vote! Read more… »

pspshock

With the announcement of some stellar titles arriving on the PSP this year, it would appear that owners of the device finally have a good reason to charge it up again and book a long train journey. With the idea of creating a cutesy LBP level during rush hour headaches-ville and ripping through Motorstorm’s snowy, mountainous terrain while sitting on the toilet firmly processed in our brains, it seems only fitting that we discuss which games should also be brought to the device.

Gamer Limit Review: Skate 2
By: | February 28th, 2009

skate2_01

Long domination of the skateboarding sub-genre by the Tony Hawk licensed series came to a spectacular end when EA Black Box produced Skate. A refreshing new control system and different approach to point scoring made it – in many eyes – the best skating sim ever. The sequel: Skate 2 is now with us, but will it keep its audience interested without resorting to the incremental gimmickry that finally slayed THPS?

Any fan of Mario should check this out.

leisure-suit-larryWhile the film industry seems to be granted a free pass to do whatever it likes, the games industry is held at the door and sanctioned time and again for poisoning the minds of the world’s children. tabularasa

In what is probably the coolest way to end an MMO, Tabula Rasa is finishing in a complete “world ending” Armageddon event. Sadly, MMOs just aren’t faring well these days outside of WoW, and the moderate success of Warhammer. Read more… »

land-before-time

If you believe everything you read on the internet you are probably well aware that the console is facing its doom and extinction, never to grace our dusty floors again. You also probably believe in the one true ceiling cat looming over us all, and that the world was destroyed last year after the Large Hadron Collider flicked its on switch. Where in all this jam packed maze of the interwebs lies the final nail in the console’s coffin? Casual games.

rise-of-the-argonauts

“You do not stumble over mountains, you stumble over stones. Step carefully over the stones and you will step over the mountains.”
