Valve’s digital download service just got steamier. In recent news, Everquest, Everquest II, Vanguard, and Pirates of the Burning Sea are all available now. For more steam related discussion, hit the jump.
Never heard of steam? Much like the Playstation Network and the Xbox Live Marketplace, Steam seeks to provide PC gamers with a digital means of acquiring games. While still in it’s early stages, digital distribution is seeking to eliminate the need for retail, saving consumers a trip to a potentially far away gaming store. In addition to titles from top developers, Steam also hosts a melody of different low-budget software titles, making it a go-to place for up and coming companies. As a result of this, there are many Steam exclusive games, and Valve has special days where select games are discounted and free. There are a multitude of games on the service at the moment, and EA has also recently joined in on the fun this past December.
If you’ve never downloaded steam and poked around, now’s the time to do so.
