Disgaea 3 is a charming game from a company called Nippon Ichi Software (NIS). NIS is known the world over for creating memorable, quirky characters and hilarious dialogue. Disgaea 3 is preceded by Disgaea 1 and 2 for the Playstation 2 console, and heralded much earlier by classic Strategy Role Playing Games (SRPG) such as Front Mission and Final Fantasy Tactics. If you have never played a Strategy RPG before, the concept is rather simple: think of it as an advanced game of Chess.

Long way away

In a recent interview with Mercury News the president of Microsoft’s Entertainment division ‘Robbie Bach’ confirmed that the Xbox 360 is here to stay and that this console generation will last a lot longer then the previous ones.

Well, up until now, I had not even heard of Merchants of Brooklyn, so I checked out the latest gameplay video from CES, and as I said, it looks interesting to say the least. Over on their official website, you can read more about this FPS from Paleo Entertainment, and did I mention it is powered by the Crytek Engine? That is the very same engine that powered the PC hit, Crysis, which I must say, has broken barriers when it came to graphics in videogames.

Bioshock, released over a year ago for the Xbox 360, has since then been applauded for its dark tenor and terrifying gameplay. Now, with the rather recent Playstation 3 port, we’re ready to give the final word on this widely acclaimed first person shooter. But is this port the frighteningly good game we’ve all come to love, or will it be shocking a disappointment? (pun intended)
