As of yesterday, the Gears of War PC certificate has expired, rendering the game useless. On January 28th, 2009 all legally bought copies of Gears of War PC will cease to function. The only possible way to immediately fix this is to set your system clock to an earlier date.
Epic is supposedly working on a fix to this, but how this problem even came into existence is beyond rational thought. Usually people like to play a game longer than a year after its release, so to have the certificate expire that soon is a very asinine move on Epics part.
This only feeds the fire over the DRM debate, as all who pirated the game will be unaffected. All those who decided to spend their hard earned money get shafted. This is just a hard slap across the face of Epic, who should have known better.
