More leaked Battlefront III pictures are being paraded around the internet. This highly anticipated game, which was planned to be released on every system imaginable (PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS) has been canned for the time being. Read on for rumors of this game possibility seeing the light of day.
After Free Radical Design announced in 2006 that it was originally making the game, the entire community was excited. In July of 2008, it was listed on Amazon.com with a 2009 release date, but was quickly rescinded. Free Radical Design then announced in October 2008 that they had lost the rights to develop Battlefront III, leading to a media frenzy of leaked videos and pictures. One of the highlights of these videos was seamless ground to space gameplay, which would have been incredible for a Battlefront-esque game.
All of these leaks are recent developments. As soon as more news appears for Battlefront III it will be posted on gamerlimit. The game is still rumored to be alive and well, and under talks to be developed by another company. My guess is that we will see this game, but not for a long time. After fans react positively to the leaked art and videos, there will be calls to finish development. Even if the new developer doesn’t use the same game engine and starts from scratch, there’s no way Lucasarts will pass up on a goldmine like this in the future.
