If you happen to be blind, you still have to buy this game simply for the music. There’s no other way I can say this other than its perfect. Listening to all your favorite Nintendo themes orchestrated through your speakers is simply mind blowing. There’s well over 150 tracks and each one is stunning. You can listen to each track whenever you please through the My Music section of the game. Each stage in the game has numerous tracks that can play while you brawl.
Super Smash Bro’s Brawl is the first in the series to feature online play. and unfortunately for the game its the online that brings it down a notch. The online is fine if you can actually find someone to play against. The system takes forever to find opponents and when you do find one it often suffers from terrible lag, although depending on your Internet connection this can change. You can play against anyone in the world, or with a friend via friend code. You’ll probably have more luck with the latter option. All online play is casual, there are no leaderboards, no stat rankings and worst of all, no voice chat. But luckily what the online fails to produce the local multiplayer has enough of for the two of them.
Brawl has a massive treasure trove of unlockable content, out of the 35 characters, 14 are unlockables and out of the 41 stages only 29 are available from the start. There are hundreds of trophies and stickers of numerous Nintendo characters to be found and that’s not including all the unlockable tunes for your stages. One of the coolest prizes is the Masterpieces, demos of old Nintendo games, sure they dont last long but its enough of a taste to get you to buy them on the Virtual Console. Brawl also includes a stage builder, its simple and you have to unlock a number of parts for it, but you can create fun stages in 5 or 10 minutes for a quick Brawl.
Super Smash Bro’s Brawl is THE fighting game to have on your Wii, whether you play alone of with friends you’re sure to have a great time. The vast amounts of Characters, Stages and Game Modes will keep you playing long after you’ve unlocked everything. You will not get tired of this game, so run out and buy it. Its easy to pick up for the casual gamers but runs far deeper than you may initially think so it wont disappoint the hardcore. Your Wii hungers for the taste of battle gamers, feed it some games, feed it Smash Bro’s!
