Hi again.
It turns out I just had to restart my xbox. It still doesn't show up on my DHCP, but when I test the connection, it doesn't prompt me saying my NAT is moderate or closed.
Great tutorial :D

Hey.
I set up the static ip. But for some reason the xbox isn't showing up on my DHCP. Why doesn't it work? It says my nat type is moderate, which is the reason why I originally wanted to set the static ip. Why it no work?

My son is setting up his 360 arcade for the first time for live ~ we connected it to the cable modem ~ set the modem to reserve the static ip we chose ~ opened the DMZ for it ~ set the ip, gateway, & subnet in the 360 ~ also set up the DNS using 2 of the 3 available. The test didn't work ~ I connected the line to my laptop and did ipconfig /renew and ipconfig again and the IP is working fine ~ what are we missing???

With static IP each device has a different last number for the last set.

Example being , 192.168.0.1 as your pc your 360 would be 192.168.0.3.

Hi, i'm new to all this so any info is much appreciated.
Firstly i've set up a static ip address should i have my xbox on the same adress as this or just completely different. If the xbox address IS completely different what is the point of creating a static ip address?

Thanks
