In an open letter published on the official Tabula Rasa site recently, Richard Garriot announced that he would be leaving Rasa developers NCsoft to pursue new interests.
Garriot, a well known space tourist, haunted mansion curator and prestidigitator, made a name for himself in the gaming industry as the creator of the long running “Ultima” series. Some of his more recent work with NCsoft has been less successful, but Garriot will surely be missed if the new interests he’s pursuing don’t fall within the realm of the gaming world.
Nevertheless, we wish Richard the best with all his future endeavours. He’s the type of guy that reminds us all sometimes it’s okay to be a geek.
