The Nintendo Wii is sure to be another big seller this season. Whether your just now getting the system or looking for a good game you may have missed, we got you covered. First we have the music games. It really doesn’t matter which you get, if you’re into feeling like your in the music any of the instrument games are good for you. You can choose from Rock Band 2, Guitar Hero, or even the new Guitar Hero World Tour. All these games are great for family and friends, or a solo bash.  Maybe you’re looking for those hidden gems, well then you definitely want to look up World of Goo and de Blob. If you’re looking for mass market hits you have the new shooter Call of Duty: World at War, or the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed adventure. Let’s not forget Wii greats such as Mario Galaxy and Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. There are some great games for the Wii out there, you just have to find them.

Sony has watched its Playstation 3′s library grow by leaps and bounds over the past year. From stellar exclusives to multiplatform games on par with the Xbox 360, the PS3 has the potential to run away with the holidays. LittleBigPlanet is the sleeper hit of the year. While it got tons of high marks by the gaming community, Sony’s lack of marketing may lead this game to be overshadowed by more publicized games. Don’t do yourself a disservice as a PS3 owner and pass on this, this is a must have for any PS3 owner. This isn’t the only game to be picked up this year. Metal Gear Solid 4 pushed story telling and graphics farther than any game before it. Resistance 2 pushes online battles to new levels with 60 player competitive matches and 8 player online cooperative matches. Motorstorm: Pacific Rift is a great extreme racer that is fun and graphically impressive. There are also great multiplatform games available on PS3 but that’s later on.

The Xbox 360 has shined since launch with great titles and they continue to pump out great titles. Fable 2 hits the ground with its great story and interesting gameplay. Gears of War 2 continues battling locusts and this time its personal. Both games are great sequels to amazing games, so if you haven’t taken the time to play their predecessors, you can easily pick up 4 new games for the holidays. Left 4 Dead is a new zombie shooter which promises great gameplay and moments of terror. Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts teases with fun for the whole family.

There’s also some games that shouldn’t be passed up that are available to multiple platforms. Mirror’s Edge is a tantilizing new taste of gameplay. The game offers an interesting unique free running first person game that consist of delievering packages by running various routes on rooftops or subways. Call of Duty: World at War promises fantastic gameplay which claims to out do its ground breaking predecessor.  Tomb Raider is back again, proving that beauty only gets better with time. Endwar offers great real time strategy gameplay with amazing voice commands. EA’s Dead Space is a great shooter that has tantalized the senses with its space atomosphere. And Fallout 3 shouldn’t be forgotten, it offers great rpg gameplay in the post apocolyptic Washington DC.

No matter what system you own, your wallets are destined to be sore this holiday season. This years holiday games are great, and with so many great games out there, its a shame that some people will miss some great games. So if you haven’t been saving for the holidays, you need to now. Enjoy the great games this year has to offer and have a Happy Holidays.  Happy Gaming.

  1. I’m hoping my Christmas present will be ‘time’, time to catch up on all the games i’m missing :)

  2. yes, i’m attempting to get the powers that be to, at least for the next few months, make 1 day last 36 hours instead of 24 to give me time to play everything out there

Well for the Wii you should deetniifly get Resident Evil 4 (very scary, not the kind of game you want to play alone at night) and for Xbox 360 you should get Resident Evil 5 and Call of Duty WaW for the nazi zombies mode, and Left 4 Dead, it has really fun online co-op.hoped this helped =)
